Dr. Randy Pausch left on Friday

I really cant believe this, he has just passed away on 25th July suffering from pancreatic cancer. But he himself knew that this day would come eventually. I believe this is a big loss to everyone.

Do rest in peace and you'll be remembered forever...

Ish...

Ish... I dont wanna work on Saturdays!!! Eventhough they give me off on Friday I still prefer to work from Monday to Friday. Well at least this is temporary according to THEM. They'll decide a fixed timetable for me after this 2 weeks. Pray hard I wont have to work on Saturdays!

Plus, I really cant stand the northern accent anymore. It doesnt sound nice seriously. At times, I cant catch up with the accents if they really speak too fast. Even if they speak slower, I can understand but that doesnt sounds nice either. Worst still that I have to speak that accents as well....arghhh....sometimes they are just like mumbling something, so it's really tired to try to listen to every single word they say.

Today my main job is to pack the medication bags and labels to the patients by calling out their names. And also to look for their medication bags when the patients come to collect them. As usual, most of the time I need them to repeat their surname at least TWICE to get it right. I was giving out a prescription of buprenorphine patch, we hadnt got enough stock and usually we would do owing slip to the patients but tutor told me it's best to avoid this for controlled drugs to avoid the slip being used by another person if it's lost. So the lady came in to pick up her patch and asked me why cant she have the owing slip. I explained that "That's because it's a controlled drug, so we cant give out the owing slip." And she went like "No, we usually have a owing slip...." And I explained the same thing. She was quite frustrated and said ''Ok, fine!'' with a beh syok look on her face. Stupid me!!! I guess I was too panic and just explain what I know. How will she know that owing slip cant be given out because it's CD ! OK, a good lesson for me today. My tutor explained to her that it cant be given just in case other people nicks it. Alright that's so simple. But, there are other good patients and customers anyway. Just like to see them. Hehe. I'll feel very happy when they say ''dont worry" with a smile on their face.

New Life

From nursery to kindergarten
Primary to Secondary school
Pre-u education to university
God! Cant believe I have now officially stepped into working life.
But memories keep flashing
Kindergarten and primary school like just happened yesterday.
The very quiet huimin in primary school and yet innocent
Naughty at times
And I just realised time does fly so fast!

Just back from the induction day, it was just alright but we're given tons of things to do plus one assignment every month, need to go for development days once every month meaning I have to go Leeds every month! This is the first time, and I duno how am I going to survive for another 11 months. Basically I have to go Leeds after work to stay overnight. Then after the end of the induction day I have to come back to Sunderland in which the duration of travel is approximately 2 hours. And still have to work the following day. Imagine that! But overall the hotel was alright, unfortunately it's not in the city centre. Dinner and breakfast included. Dinner can be ordered up to 15 pounds and sent to our room.

This is not the end. I have another 11 times like this to go...

London-Cambridge

Well, just to finish off the post I should have done few weeks ago.
Yeah....finally I got to go London again!!! This time was different as Aunt Jeanne brought us around and offered us to stay in her house. I went there alone all the way from sunderland to london and met them at blackhorse road. The tube map was still quite confusing to me initially (as previously I just followed friends without even looking at the map), plus I'm really really poor in sense of direction, still struggling to overcome this :P .I hopped on the southbound route instead of northbound one. Haih...I had to change the tube again and finally reached the house. It was approximately 8 mins walk from the nearest tube station....hmm....I dont know bout others...i feel it's quite far...haha...pampered too much while staying in summerhill i guess. We had curry chicken rice in aunt's house...feeling so ''hang fuk'' that time! She then fetch us to first stop-Harrods.

The side of Harrods and also known as ''world's most famous department stores". The front was under construction so didnt take a pic of it. It's owned by Mohamed al-Fayed (Dodi's dad). Basically everything are sold there ranging from cosmetics, health and beauty items, foods, clothing, jewellery, packaged gifts, houseare, furniture etc. Everything was lush but they're expensive.

Memorial of Princess Diana & Dodi in Harrods

On the way to Natural History Museum, I found something looking very sumptuous.

Fell in love with those cakes!

It was too big that I couldnt take the whole pic of it.

I wasnt really interested in those stuff so it was just alright to me

See this weather...It was like this for the period I was staying there! Thought that I could escape from the Sunderland's weather...UK memang UK= Unpredictable. It's summer though.

Eventhough I've been to London a few times, this is the first time I took pic with the phonebooth...haha

The cinema where the celebrities gather to promote their movies

Then we went for dinner in chinatown in which the restaurant called crispy duck owned by Malaysian. Didnt get to take pics as camera needed to be recharged :(
The next day, as parents had been to other places in London they suggested to go Cambridge.

Dad took pic with the platform 9 3/4 in Kingscross Station. I dont watch Harry Potter but according to them this platform related to Harry Potter movie. Perhaps anyone knowing this can tell me.

We then reached Cambridge after 1 hour train ride.

Everyone will be thinking that we would see the university after stepping out of the train station rite? Nope. I always thought that Cambridge is a big University. Well, actually it's a town ( more like an isolated town to me) , a very very small town with all the campuses scattered around. The campuses are not centralised in a particular area but different departments located in different locations. It's not that I'm saying I have the capabilities to study here, but really I feel I will not want to study here if I'm given an opportunity to. That's because there's really really nothing to do other than studying there. Ya a good place for study indeed.

We didnt go on punting due to drizzling rain that time. But whoever goes Cambridge should go for punting for more sceneries.

The cherries were all really sweet in the orchard.

Cuties!!!

"Keep off the grass that's my dinner!"

The clocks are really special!!! Unfortunately they cost around 100 pounds each.

In front of the well known King's College.

With the King's College guard...hehe

Sign like this can be seen everywhere to protect the grass.

Before heading back to London.

Sunderland-Durham-Newcastle

There are not many places that we can visit near Sunderland....So I just brought my parents to Newcastle and Durham. In Sunderland, I brought them to Winter Garden, which I've never been despite 4 years of studying here. Nothing much actually...maybe a good place for picnic during the summer.

Some schoolchildren doing activities there

Dont know what happen to this pic....the sky is not gloomy as depicted in the pic

No...they didnt like Italian food at all.

Durham is another small city...

Still remember this in the first year, we realised rowing boat aint an easy task.

Cute? xD

Emptiness

After bout 1 week of travelling...accompanying parents....now that they've gone back...it's just so different...quiet room with a lonely me.

It's just back to normal life..like it used to be in which I hang out most of the time in my room watching shows and drama. But today is different and I just cant figure out why. Firstly, I can only see my family the coming chinese new year (maybe). Secondly, I have so many things to settle before the commencement of pre-reg training, like, booking train tickets for induction day, get my certificate and settle leave to remain thingy, preparation before work, get my second hepatitis B injection, get a bus from newcastle to my work place to check the duration of travel.

Starting a pre-reg training isnt FUN at all ! It's not even started yet and I can feel the boring-ness. The same routine will be repeated everyday. Honestly, being graduated is a good thing to be happy bout. Ya I know after all the hard works and finally we're certified and being offered training. I know we're much more luckier than others who are not able to get a job at all. I appreciate that and feel grateful but then working life is sooo sien!!!

I know my life now gonna be waking up, go work, come home, dinner, sleep.....and continue the same thing the next day....

How long can I stand this I wonder....

And I realise that I really cannot work in this place...especially north part...seriously I need to move down! And I cant just stay alone in a house.....it's driving me crazy!!!

:S

jour heureux

Erm the title is in french...meaning happy day...just for fun...haha

Guess what??
After trials & tribulations...
Years of testing of endurance...
Huimin is finally graduating!!!
I know the results will be out today...And I just couldnt wait no more so I went to see Dr.Roz. Unfortunately she was quite busy and said that it will be available through webct in the afternoon. It was 2 something that time. So I was wondering what time does her ''afternoon'' means.
Ya I came back and keep refreshing the page like a fool until the drama time. I just sat back & relax enjoying the drama with some snacks.
Esther suddenly called to inform the results is already out. My fingers trembled when I was typing & feeling nausea...wondering will I need to repeat a year?
I scrolled down and yes!!! I know I'm graduating...I screamed...as I was home alone...haha..
What A DAY !

Happy Happy Day!
